With decades of deep technical expertise in all types of satellite and IP (Internet Protocol) networking technologies and tropical partnerships with customers, SatLink Communications has the wits to design, build, and unhook well-constructed satellite networking solutions that are focused on the economic drivers customers superintendency well-nigh the most. These include efficiency, throughput, and reliability (at both the link level and hardware level), plus seated value-added IP networking features in the upper layers for network acceleration. These are the factors with the greatest user using performance benefits, but SatLink Communications does not stop there. Our technology and solutions moreover profoundly simplify the planning, operational management, and growth of satellite networks delivering IP traffic, from a few remote terminals (or VSATs) up to many tens of thousands of VSATs, with a scalable Open Architecture, comprehensive support for industry standards, and cost-effective products to serve industrial, professional, and consumer markets.   TDM/TDMA:  The Satellite Technology for IP Networks  Of particular importance is SatLink Communications' 20+ year record of foresight and leadership in the R&D and commercialization of satellite technologies for TDM/TDMA networks.  This is the use of TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) in combination with TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) for interactive (i.e., two-way) communications via satellite to scrutinizingly any location on or near the earth.  The icon unelevated illustrates the vital elements of a TDM/TDMA network. TDM/TDMA networks, in general, provide largest efficiency, faster throughput, and greater reliability for a given financial upkeep or a given satellite transponder resource pool, than any other satellite networking technology. This is due in large part to their native worthiness to dynamically share bandwidth-on-demand in such a way that it appears that the necessary & unliable bandwidth is unchangingly misogynist in a well-managed network. This is platonic for IP networking and required to unhook the increasingly high-speeds and reliable IP using throughputs users demand. It was in the early 1980s that SatLink Communications first introduced ground-breaking TDM/TDMA technology for packet-based networks (before most people plane heard of the Internet). This was followed up in the 1990s with high-capacity carrier-class voice/data network systems that handled IP traffic increasingly efficiently than competitors. Continuing into the 1990s and the 2000s, SatLink Communications introduced integrated switched IP telephony, dynamic bandwidth allocation, traffic engineering, and wide quality of service (QoS) features for IP networks to enable multi-tiered value-added services, multiple media types, and GSM voice over satellite, all with maximum spectrum efficiency and IP packet handling efficiency for the technologies misogynist at the time.   DVB-RCS: The Standard for TDM/TDMA Starting virtually the year 2000, SatLink Communications delivered the first commercial implementations of the new international standard for TDM/TDMA networks tabbed DVB-RCS – which was designed specifically to handle IP traffic. Throughout the last decade DVB-RCS technology provided the most wide dynamic TDMA technology on the market. SatLink Communications applied it successfully to handling all types of IP data traffic and media (e.g., voice and video) meantime with spanking-new Quality of Service (QoS) for wait sensitive voice and video traffic. The DVB-RCS standard has for many years received strong industry and government backing. See DVB-RCS & DVB-RCS2 for increasingly information on the importance of these standards.Moreoverin the previous decade, SatLink Communications' R&D team pioneered large-scale IP mesh networking among low-cost VSATs using dynamic TDMA methods based on DVB-RCS standards, achieving remoter performance, reliability and efficiency gains not previously realized within the industry for mesh networking, while moreover simplifying IP routing protocol management in large scale, wide-area mesh – a rencontre totally unique to satellite-based IP networks. In the years since 2010, SatLink Communications' R&D team, through its own R&D efforts and its leadership of industry consortia under sponsorship of the European Space Agency, delivered a major urging in dynamic MF-TDMA splash modem technology to serve as the understructure for the next generation of the DVB-RCS standard, which is now established as DVB-RCS2. Similar to the major performance advancements of DVB-S2 over DVB-S for TDM performance, DVB-RCS2 has established the new industry benchmark for TDMA performance worldwide, which others have yet to match. For increasingly technical information on TDM/TDMA and the leading DVB-RCS2 technology, see DVB-RCS2: Advancing TDM/TDMA Technology For a technical comparison of TDMA vs. SCPC (Single Channel Per Carrier) technology (an older, traditional technology) see this SatLink Technical Note:  TDMA vs. SCPC in Satellite Networks.
